Distribution / Control

With whole house audio systems, you can enjoy music in every room, but powering multiple pairs of speakers can be a tricky thing which is why volume controls and speaker selectors are so important. Volume controls allow you to reduce or increase the volume room to room. After all, dining rooms need smooth and mellow; garages and home theaters shake the roof. However when you’re connecting multiple speakers to a receiver or amplifier, you need to stay above the amp’s minimum load requirements, and a well-designed volume control will have impedance matching to keep you in the safe zone. A speaker selector is a typically passive device that borrows power from your amp to distribute that power to other speakers in the house. You decide which room needs power and press a button accordingly.
